Congrats to Rebekah and Corey
Congratulations to Rebekah and Corey. What a beautiful wedding, performed by Corey's Aunt Pat. The bride was breathtaking as well as her wedding party that was dressed in black. What an elegant site they were carrying their long stem Calla Lily bouquets. They had a beautiful memorial service for family members that were not present in body but whose spirit was felt by all. Such a unique wedding and so many memories made. The bride's Grandmother and Maid of Honor wore matching black foot casts. Both had been in different accidents a few weeks ago but broke the same foot. The Maid of Honor (twin sister to the bride) painted her crutches black to match her dress and decorated them with celery green bows to coordinate with the wedding accent colors. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

Finding the right location
Before you start searching for that perfect place for the wedding of your dreams do a little planning. The first thing you should do is make your guest list. You should list each person that will be invited to your wedding. Once you have the list don't start scratching people off. Search for locations that can accommodate your total number plus locations that can accommodate 20% less than your total. Verify with the location if they count your wedding party as guests or if they have an age limit on children they count. A location that can accommodate 80% of your guests may just be the perfect place for you. Rule of thumb is that 80% of those that RSVP yes, will actually attend the wedding.
Now that you have visited several locations it is time to scrutinize your guest list. There are many guests that you will invite just for respect and those friends and family that live out of state that you know will not be able to attend. Make a second list, this list should include only those that you feel will attend. Do not list the locations exclusions on this second list. Use your first list to mail your invitations. Every invitation should include an RSVP card regardless of the size of your wedding. Count the number of guests on the second list, multiply the total by 80% to determine a close estimate of the number that will attend. Now you are ready to make a decision on the perfect location.
Happy planning

Have it your way
Planning a wedding, remember one thing, it is your wedding. if you want it to be the one remembered do the different within limits. Enjoy your planning, don't get caught up on the small stuff. On your wedding day believe it or not it all comes together and at the end of the day you are married to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. All the stressing is over! Nothing will change the outcome.

Bold Colors, Fabulous Floral Arrangements!
A "Happy Anniversary" shout out to my BFF!
My best friend Anmarie and her incredible husband Kevin tied the knot at Misty Valley Wedding Chapel on June 23rd, 2 years ago. They were surrounded by about 90 family and friends and about 300 fresh cut daisies! It was a wonderful wedding followed by two years of an even more wonderful marriage. Love you guys and wish you many, many more blissful years of marriage. I hope you get to take that camping trip sometime soon! :)

Thanks so much for all your hard work, Charity and lots of love to Steve and (soon to be one year old) Daisy! We love you guys and look forward to lots of work together in the future!
May and June behind us!
Hey, wedding fans! We have put the craziness of May and June behind us. It was a wild ride of two and three wedding weekends, as those two months always are. Even after 6 years at the chapel, we still manage to learn valuable lessons from our events and constantly revise our packages and services to create better experiences for brides!
Be sure to check our website for upcoming package specials that include customized seasonal decoration upgrades and amenities.

Third wedding this weekend...whew! Glad they are all over and went off without a hitch.
Wedding Vendors
First tip, communicate with your vendors the week of your wedding to avoid any undue stress on you and them. Just a phone call to confirm the details of your big day and their arrival or delivery times puts everyone at ease, leaving no unanswered questions on your wedding day. Allows more time for you to enjoy. Check back for more on this subject later this week.

Halfway through weddings today! One down, one to go. Our first wedding was a small ceremony with the reception off-site. Later this afternoon, we have a wedding and reception with a catered dinner. They are using my favorite Tiffany blue for table linens and on their cake.
We also have another wedding tomorrow with a courtesy reception (which is code for Sharon and I catering them ourselves!) We'll get started tomorrow about 11:00am, so it's going to be a long day.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

Welcome to Misty Valley's blog, we are new to blogging and hope to gain lots of information from other bloggers regarding what they would like their wedding day to be. We work very hard to make sure each bride has the wedding she has been planning since she turned 6. In the past 6 years we have seen over 500 weddings and none of them the same. Each of them beautiful and unique to the couple. We have played songs for the bride's entrance from the traditional wedding march to Amazing Grace (not a dry eye in the house on this one). We have seen the newlyweds toast with just about anything you can imagine from the traditional champagne to milk (for that milk lover). If you have your perfect day envisioned please keep that vision and focus on that so you will have no regrets later for changing because someone told you it was not appropriate or just not done. It is your wedding and not to coin a phrase do it your way. At Misty Valley we say read the articles if you want but stay focused on your dream wedding.
